March 15:

Frankie Kavanagh, 24, of Carisbrooke Road, St Leonards, was found guilty of being drunk and disorderly in a public place at Princes Road, Eastbourne, on October 13. He was also found guilty of assaulting a police officer there on the same day and admitted being in breach of a suspended sentence imposed by Lewes Crown Court for aggravated vehicle taking. He was given a one year conditional discharge for the drunk and disorderly offence and committed to Lewes Crown Court for sentencing on the assault and breach.

Christopher Waters 22, of Foxglove Road, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to a charge of harassment by sending a woman 130 unwanted text messages since February 12. The court made a community order with a requirement of 180 hours of unpaid work. The court also issued a restraining order.

March 17:

Peter Igoe, 46, of Midway Quay, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to driving a Honda Civic car on Pacific Drive, Eastbourne, on March 2 while more than three times over the drink-drive limit. He gave a breath alcohol reading of 109 microgrammes. The legal limit is 35mg. The court made a community order with a requirement of 80 hours of unpaid work and banned him from driving for three years.

Neil Marshall, 42, of Kings Drive, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman by beating. The offence took place at Eastbourne on March 1. He was given a six month conditional discharge.

William Mcintyre, 48, of Elms Avenue, Eastbourne, pleaded guilty to entering Pricewatch petrol station, in Trinity Place, Eastbourne, as a trespasser on March 3 and stealing alcohol and tobacco. He was sentenced to prison for 12 weeks, suspended for one year. Magistrates said the reason for the sentence was previous convictions.
