Couple marry twenty one years after bllind date

A COUPLE from Little Common, who met after being 'set-up' on a blind date twenty one years ago, married last week.

Peter and Jeanette Hunt (nee Birch) originally met in Bromley, Kent after a couple of devious mutual friends planned for them to meet by surrepticiously inviting them out for what they believed was simply a drink.

Jeanette said: "Peter and I thought we were just meeting our friends for a drink but they had an ulterior motive because the minute Peter and I arrived they just got up and left!"

Jeannette said that there was an instant attraction between them and, as both herself and Peter had suffered traumatic break-ups, they had a lot in common.

She said: "I liked him straight away and we ended up talking until 2.30 in the morning."

She added:" We were best friends first and soon became soul mates."

Peter said he finally decided to pop the question because he thought, "it was about time she made an honest man of me."

After tying the knott, Peter and Jeanette held a reception for twenty of their friends and family at the Cooden Beach Hotel.
