College links with radio

UCKFIELD FM, the radio station that will be live on air between 7 July and 3 August, supporting the Uckfield Festival, is strengthening its ties with the community.

GCSE music students at the Uckfield Community Technical College will be submitting their ideas for a station theme to be used on air during the broadcast, a project that enables them to use the opportunity as part of their course work.

During January the group is also giving a presentation of its proposals to members of Uckfield Rotary Club, Uckfield Chamber of Commerce, and are also meeting with Charles Hendry MP.

Spokesperson Paddy Rea said: 'To make this exciting project a success we need the support of all sections of the community. We are delighted to be given the opportunity to meet with the groups and with Mr Hendry, who has shown a keen interest in our ideas.'
