Carnival race night winnings

A jumble sale was held on Saturday morning in the hall of Church Of Our

Lady in Southlands Road and then a race night Bexhill Amateur Athletic

Club that same evening.

Organiser Nim Whitmarsh said: "We were pleased with the events and

pleased with the outcome. If a few more people turned up for the race

night, it would have been better, but it was a good night and everyone

enjoyed themselves. Everything went well...they all had a good night,

and they have asked us to put another one on in a couple of months'

time.

"We would like to thank Jo and Barry Painter down at the Athletic club

for allowing us to put on race night, and also the committee at the

church for letting us use it for the jumble sale."
