Call for patriotic pride to be on display at Littlehampton show

ON THE eve of a referendum which could see Scotland split from the United Kingdom, music-lovers in Littlehampton are being urged to show their patriotic pride.

The Littlehampton Concert Band will be holding its Last Night at the Proms, on Sunday, September 20, at the Windmill Entertainment Centre.

And the group is asking those in the audience to come in full patriotic dress to mark the show.

Sue Alcock, concert manager of the band, said: “It’s an evening of great fun and patriotism and we play all the usual Proms pieces such as Rule, Britannia! and Land of Hope and Glory, all with flag waving and audience participation.

“Regular audience members know to come in all best red, white and blue attire to make the atmosphere even better.”

The show will begin at 7.30pm, with tickets costing £8.50 per person.

Those wishing to purchase a ticket for the concert can call the Windmill’s box office on 01903 722224.

If the box office is not manned, people are asked to leave their name and telephone number and a member of staff will call back as soon as possible.

The band has plenty of other shows on the horizon, with another performance coming up in November called The Poppy Concert, combined with Bognor Regis Concert Band. It will be held in Chichester.
