Bus gathering goodies on sale now

ENTHUSIASTS can gear up for Littlehampton's big bus day by snapping up special souvenirs in the weeks before the event.

And as well as taking home this year's limited edition model bus, souvenir mugs and dishes and programmes, they can help to make sure the fifth Littlehamp-ton Bus Gathering and Running Day, on July 6, has a great start.

Plans are now well advanced for what has become truly a national event, with vehicles heading to the south coast from Greater Manchester, Gloucestershire, Dorset, Kent, Hampshire and a host of other places.

Organisers hope their supporters will rally round for those advance purchases to provide crucial funding in the run-up to July 6. Last year's event was the first to suffer from bad weather, just when it looked like there might be sufficient funds raised to provide a financial base on which to build for the future.

Once more, the Littlehampton Gazette office has all the souvenirs on sale, including the 2003 limited edition model bus (15), baby bus souvenir mug (3.50), baby bus mug and dish set (10) and the 2003 souvenir programme and timetable (3).

Advanced support for the event has also been provided by a 1,000 Littlehampton Town Council grant, as well as from town businesses and Arun District Council.

As usual, there is no admission charge and rides on the preserved vehicles around Littlehampton and the surrounding area are free. It all takes place at St Martin's car park, from 10.30am-5pm.
