Burwash village voice

On Sunday morning Tom Appleby will be taking part in the Pioneer Run, organised by the sunbeam Motor cycle club, riding his 1911 Humber. The run begins at Tattenham Corner, Epsom and ends at Madeira Drive, Brighton, a total of 62 miles.

Over 350 riders from throughout the UK and Europe will take part, the first leaving Epsom at 8am and the last one arriving in Brighton by the 1pm deadline. This year the club are raising funds for the British Heart foundation. I am sure that Tom would love you to go and see him arrive in Brighton. it would be a marvellous day out for motorcycle enthusiasts. good luck Tom for a smooth, successful ride.

The March Parish Footpath walk will take place on Monday morning. Roger Cloke will lead you around the network of public footpaths around our villages, thereby making sure they are kept open and in good order for all to enjoy. He will leave the Bear car park at 9am. The walks usually finish by 1pm. Everyone is welcome to join him.

The Burwash village hall have their AGM on Tuesday. All user groups are invited to send along a representative to hear how the hall faired over the past year and the plans for the future. We are still looking for someone to help on the committee, either as Chairman or Treasurer. At present the jobs are being done by one person. If you are interested either call Shirley Viney or come along to the meeting, which starts at 7.30pm.

Next Saturday, 24th, is a busy day for Burwash. The Guides have one of their jumble sales, any jumble call Jackie Ashdown on 01435 882196. There is to be a general spring clean of the St Bartholomews church yard. Volunteers are welcome to help. There is also going to be a run in the Sport Relief mile, in the playing fields. More details for all these next Friday.
