Brownies' bring-and-buy

A BRING-AND-BUY sale organised by the 1st Ninfield Brownies on Tuesday evening, January 25, raised £85 for new flooring needed at the village's Memorial Hall.

The 14 seven to 10-year-olds used their regular Tuesday meeting at the hall to encourage parents, friends and villagers along to part with some cash in aid of their chosen cause.

Brownies’ spokeswoman and parish councillor Julia Wilkins said: “It was a terrific achievement to raise what they did in just one hour and an excellent way of putting something back into a well-used amenity.”

Ninfield Carnival Society has said it will match any funds raised for the hall flooring fund this year pound-for-pound, up to a maximum of £2,500.

This year’s carnival will be on Saturday, July 16, with the theme Myths and Legends. It will be preceded on the Friday evening by a Ninfield’s Got Talent event.
