Brickworks site still on landfill list

LAYBROOK Brickworks was back in the spotlight this week, when County Hall waste experts announced that it is now one of only three sites being considered as a rubbish dump for rotting household and industrial waste.

The former brickworks was on a shortlist of six landfill sites for 'non-inert' waste '“ but this has now been narrowed down to only three.

Villagers at Thakeham, Ashington and Storrington were horrified, some saying that a landfill site would be a health risk.
