Brede

Rugby: I am of Welsh origin and I was exhilarated while watching the Six Nations Rugby Wales against Italy and pleased as punch when Wales scored 60 points against Italy’s 18 – in line for the cup I thought. Then Ireland crushed the feeling as they beat Scotland and scored more points to move above Wales. Not daunted yet as both of my Grandmothers came from England and they still had a chance. In the first half of England against France match I thought England would loose the match; but after half time it was as if different men were playing and when they reached 55. I thought they were in for a chance not suspecting that France would score the late try and convert it, relegating England to second on the points board. However both Wales and England put up a fierce fight to win their matches and they should be proud of that. If like me you are proud to be Welsh or if you like the Welsh culture, holidaying in Wales or their music then you might like to join Hastings Welsh society. It is £5 for the year for single people and £7 for a couple. To find out more and to have an application form contact Marjory Atherden 01424 441208.
