BREAKING NEWS: Police seize £150,000 of cannabis during Littlehampton raid

Detectives have busted a drugs den in Littlehampton worth more than £150,000, police announced this afternoon.

Officers from Sussex Police seized more than 300 mature cannabis plants following a raid on an industrial unit, at Foresters Yard, in Quayside, on Thursday (November 29).

The seizure of the class B narcotic was part of a multi-agency initiative set up to cut crime and reduce vulnerability among the eastern European community in the Arun district.

It follows in the wake of a similar bust, at a site in The Arcade, last month, which saw a £25,000 haul of cannabis and other drug-related equipment seized by officers.

PC Sam Fenner, from the Operation Accent Communities Team, said: “This was a well constructed set up within the unit, complete with lights and heating. Over 300 mature plants were recovered and the whole scene has been subject to a forensic examination.”

No arrests have yet been made.

However, detectives stressed they were keen to speak to anyone who may have any information about the drug den.

Those with information should contact Operation Accent by calling either 101 or independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
