Bodiam

The village had some famous people on the May Bank Holiday Saturday. Rother District Council’s new chairman Cllr Ian Jenkins and his wife, plus Cllr Sue Prochak, Cllr G Goodsell and George Bailey, number one at Bodiam Castle, all had an invite to the official opening of the Inland Waterways Association Festival on the Rother. I was very sorry in the evening at the National Trust barbecue, live music and pay bar that not many residents turned up. Perhaps on the invite the National Trust could have put more information, but local residents can phone the National Trust. Bodiam residents did get a few hot dog, but they ran out at about 8.30pm. But after all that myself and the young lady that I was with had a good time at the barbecue and I am sure if more residents turned up, they would have had a good time.

The cricket club are at home to Netherfield on June 9, start at 2.30pm.

League football is to return to Bodiam. Westridge Construction Ltd is to have a side in the East Sussex Football League and a friendly will take place on July 6 at Bodiam Recreation Ground.
