Bexhill Voluntary Day Centre for the Elderly

THE BEXHILL Voluntary Day Centre for the Elderly held a Garden Coffee Morning at the Methodist Church Hall, Sackville Road last Saturday.

Many stalls offered a variety of goods for sale including books, jewellery, gift sets, bric a brac and worryingly a stall selling Christmas cards and gifts.

The culprit of the Christmas stall was Mr John Burt who did have a sign to justify his wares which made many stop and think, as it stated that there are, 'only 115 days to go' to Christmas.

The well-supplied tombola was as popular as ever; teas, coffees and biscuits were served.

Chairman Jill Halsall gave praise to her dedicated team of volunteers for their help and for the donations of the items on sale. She said that the money raised today will go into the centre's fund which provides days out for local elderly residents and, "anything else that they need which they may not otherwise have."
