Barnham shop holding grand opening today

A Barnham shop with a difference will be hosting its grand opening today (Saturday, October 8).

Lucy Jayne at Home has opened in the Windmill shopping centre, and owner Lucy Grout believes the homeware shop is the first of its kind in the village.

Lucy said: “My idea of opening the shop really came from the fact there is nothing like it anywhere close by.

People have to drive to places like Chichester and Arundel for something like this and that is not always an option.”

The shop, which opened last month, stocks a range of handmade, customised, vintage and bought-in products.

“I also offer bespoke services, things like furniture painting, colour-matching furniture and my own handmade creations.

“We already have a steady stream of customers coming in, and they have all said how different the shop is and how nice it is to have something like this in the village,” said the 36-year-old.

The open day will run from 10am-5pm and there will be a range of special promotions and discounts across the store.

There will also be a raffle with a free ticket for everyone who spends more than £20.

“We are all very excited about the open day. It will be nice to welcome customers and show them what we are all about,” said Lucy.

There will also be a gazebo outside where coffee and cup cakes will be available for customers while stocks last.
