Appeal for soldiers

EBC, based The Gael in Sea Road, has already held an appeal and with the help of Care drug store dispatched 300 worth of toiletries to the troops in both areas of conflict.

Owner Pat Donoghue of Edinburgh Bagpipe Company said band members based out there are paying more in the NAFFI for toiletries than they do at home.

She commented: "This seems like the worst kind of profiteering, they get so hot and dusty out there - personal hygene is a luxury to them...let's see if we in Bexhill can alleviate some of the discomfort for them.

"With your help we can do this again. EBC would like to do this bi-annually, so we have plenty of time - please give generously, they do."
