Appeal for lost watch

Roy Bridge, 71, remembers checking his watch as he went through the main doors at the entrance but by the time he looked again when sitting in Area C it was gone.

Now his wife Anne, also of Tilgate Drive, has contacted the Observer to ask if anyone has found it.

The watch was a present from Anne to Roy six years ago, for his 65th birthday, and is of great sentimental value.

It is a gold Rotary watch, almost square, with a gold bracelet.

Anne said: "I think what has happened is he has lost so much weight through his treatment, and now has such a thin wrist that when he held his hand up, it fell off. He was holding the door open for someone in a wheelchair and it must have slipped off then."

Having discovered the loss on Tuesday, the couple checked in all the areas they had passed through, from the entrance to the front desk, newspaper shop, and seats in Area C, with no luck.

"I do wish we can get it back," said Anne.

"We have had such a bad day and we didn't need this."
