Eastbourne Borough Council confirmed on social media that there was further collapse of the hotel facade last night.

It comes after a large section of the hotel came down yesterday morning following Storm Ciara.

The storm brought 70 to 80mph winds to some parts of Sussex.

A spokesman for Eastbourne Borough Council said: "There was further collapse of the hotel facade last night.

"Our team continue to work closely with hotel representatives and their demolition contractor to ensure the safest procedure for dealing with the remainder of the building."

The Grade II hotel was ravaged by flames on November 22, and the area surrounding it has been blocked off to the public since.
