Annual Open Dayat Mallydams Woodconservation centre

The RSPCA’s Mallydams Wood at Fairlight holds its annual Open Day on Saturday from 10.30am - 4pm.

The popular event is the biggest fund-raiser of the year for Mallydams.

The theme of the Open Day this year is Nocturnal Wildlife.

Come along and discover more about the ‘night shift’ of British woodland creatures including badgers, foxes, hedgehogs, owls, bats, and glow worms.

Visitors to the family friendly event can enjoy trails, activities and games throughout the day.

There is also the opportunity to find out more about the work Mallydams undertakes with tours of the Wildlife Centre.

There will be a barbecue and refreshments area and a prize raffle draw.

Entry is £2.50 for adults, £1.50 for children/OAPs, £7. for family ticket (two adults and two children), under twos are free.

There is free car parking on the site.

Mallydams is situated at Peter James Lane, in Fairlight.

The centre was founded in 1961 when the late Horace Quick, a local artist and wildlife enthusiast, gave Mallydams Wood to the RSPCA to care for sick animals.
