Eastbourne cancer patient completes Santa fun run

A woman from Eastbourne on her second round of chemotherapy completed a festive fun run.

Karen Ford, 57, was told in April that all cancer had been removed but it resurfaced in October and she is on her second bout of chemotherapy within one year.

Karen said, “On Sunday (December 20) I completed the virtual Santa fun run and walked as Mrs Santa from Holywell to the Sovereign Centre whilst collecting donations for the Pevensey Day Unit which has supported me wonderfully during both courses of treatment.

“The 5K walk for me was long and tiring being I’d only had chemo the previous week. It was the longest walk I have done without sitting down since and whilst on chemo.”

Karen has now raised more than £600.
