The Devonshire Quarter conference centre in Devonshire Park is preparing for a busy season of events which it says will go ahead in line with government guidelines.

Various events have already been confirmed including the annual English Bridge Union’s Summer Meeting in August, the Rotary District events in October and award ceremonies.

Eastbourne Borough Council head of tourism and enterprise Annie Wills said, “We are delighted to welcome the return of conferences and events back to the Devonshire Quarter, after Covid-19 restrictions put large-scale events on hold.

“The new bookings and enquiries are brilliant news for Eastbourne’s economy, with the return of delegates providing a much needed boost to hotels, restaurants and many other local businesses.

“Conference Eastbourne has done a superb job adapting to the various challenges over the past 12 months and we are looking forward to providing first-class facilities for conferences and events once again.”

Despite conferences being put on hold, the centre team has been working since March 2020 on food box preparations, in large-scale vaccination centres and providing a Covid-ready venue for essential meetings and training events for organisations including the NHS and East Sussex County Council.

The Devonshire Quarter conference, sporting and entertainment complex has benefitted from a major transformation in recent years through a £54 million refurbishment.

It was recently crowned as the Business Events Venue of the Year at the Beautiful South Awards too.
