The Boat House in Princes Park has been closed for several days and on Thursday a notice appeared saying the venue was being renovated and would be reopening again soon as Perch in Princes Park with an ‘exciting new offer for Eastbourne’.

A website called Princes Perch says, “The award-winning Perch is taking over The Boat House and bringing a great new offer to the town. Giving a warm welcome to all including our four legged friends, so feel invited to enjoy a drink or stay for lunch, relax and enjoy time with family and friends in the beautiful Princes Park.”

The council owns the cafe premises but after a deal with brighton University’s hospitality department fell through, the Rajwani family who owned the Jazz Barbers group took over.
