Littlehampton festive season gets into full swing

THE TOWN centre will be alive with the sound of music, as Christmas well and truly gets into the festive swing of things.

The Littlehampton Carnival Association will hold its annual Christmas fun day in the High Street next weekend, on December 10.

It will kick off at 10am, after being officially opened by the town’s mayor, Alan Gammon, and run until 4pm.

Among the attractions will be a Santa’s grotto, where children will be able to meet Father Christmas and his reindeer, and take away a present, as well as a bag of “magic dust” to help the big man find their house on Christmas Eve, for £2.50.

Other entertainment will come in the form of music, from Littlehampton Operatics Society, the Littlehampton Concert Band and The Samba Band.

Festive treats, including toffee apples, mulled wine and mince pies will be on offer, as will tombolas and other games. Freda Hughes, chairman of the carnival association, said all proceeds will go towards next year’s event. We need the public to get behind us,” she added.
