Festival season gears up to the Big Green Cardigan

The Big Green Cardigan festival is for over 18’s only and runs two live music stages; get to see all the acts, as the stages perform alternately. This is a gathering place for true music lovers, the event is wonderfully friendly and relaxed and is devoid of any corporate sponsorship.

Local real ales, and ciders, home cooked food, (at sensible prices ), and enough clean (and regularly checked)toilets to go round, the event takes place in an incredibly beautiful setting in The Weald.

Try early morning yoga, have a go at archery, enjoy an art workshop (with an artist creating original art), taste our own ‘Big Green Cardigan ale’ created by Franklins Brewery in Bexhill, wander through a variety of interesting stalls & much more...

All the musical acts are now in place. Expect Americana, country, ambient, blues, rock n roll & many other musical genres. A number of the acts are listed here and a full line up can be found on the website: www.biggreencardigan.co.uk/artists.

With only 500 tickets available for each day, tickets do go very fast.

Bands lined up to play include:

Buddy Mondlock: A singer-songwriter from Nashville, Tennessee. Guy Clark, Nanci Griffith and Janis Ian (to name a few) sing his songs, but there’s nothing like hearing the guy who wrote ‘em sing ‘em; he’ll draw you into his wonderful world!

Red Dirt Skinners: Multi award winning Country Blues. Sublime vocal harmonies, trademark sax solos, finger picked or insanely fast strummed guitar, and (if the venue permits) live drums, Red Dirt Skinners shows are fun and interactive.

King Size Slim: An explosive roots and blues guitarist with a fat roots-style sound, delivered live and direct. The music, percussive and dynamic in its nature, melodic and soulful in its heart, shouts loud and kisses sweet.

The Roving Crows: The Roving Crows weave together a rich tapestry of sounds, taking the audience across musical boundaries into the world of folk, Celtic and country-rock. They are unique and completely absorbing.

Lavendore Rogue: With a combination of talent and experience LaVendore Rogue may well prove to be one of the hottest up-and-coming crossover ‘roots’ acts the UK has to offer.

Rotait: Alternative rock duo creating their own distinctive sound. They combine the use of drums, vocals and dirty distorted cello & have been compared to the likes of The White Stripes, Radiohead and Nirvana.

Sean de Burca: Named as ‘one of the greatest guitarists under the age of 30’ by Acoustic Guitar Magazine, as well as being Acoustic Magazine’s ‘Next Big Thing’, self-taught solo guitarist Sean de Burca, is known for his original percussive acoustic music - created with altered tunings, guitar body percussion, fretboard tapping and groove-driven rock-infused riffs.

Jazz Morley Band: Natural soulfulness; a rich, warm, emotive voice capable of the tiniest whisper of love to the full vent of a woman scorned.
