Bard at the Bar

WHY don't you write poem about: urban deprivations,Or trains that hardly run to time at British railway stations?

The breakdown of social fabric-TV programmes and marriages,

The continuing refinement of-infernal combustion carriages.

Government, white paper policies relating to this and that.

Various wars,

the sport result scores

and the fact that the world's not flat.

Those traffic jams on motorways, all the rising crime.

Bet you could think of lots to say- and write it down in rhyme.

A verse about our factory, us workers who clock in

Our wages and conditions, the 'decibels of din'.

And what of the starving folk, all those unemployed.

Why don't you write on things like that? It makes me so annoyed!

The rising tax on booze and smokes, the fluctuating pound...

Oh yeah, and that reminds me. I believe it's your next round.
