As part of its current UK Tour The Russian State Ballet and Opera House will be coming to the Congress Theatre three times in the next five weeks/.
On Wednesday, November 19 (7.30pm) they are bringing Swan Lake, the greatest of all romantic ballets in which Prince Siegfried chances upon a flock of swans while out hunting.
When one of the swans turns into a beautiful woman he is instantly captivated. Will his love prove strong enough to break the evil spell that she is under?
On Friday, December 5 (7.30pm) it’s the turn of Giselle, a compelling legend of tragic romance. This is a tale of betrayal and love by 19th century’s French composer Adolphe Adam, and one of the most celebrated ballets.
On Saturday 6 December (2.30pm/7.30pm) there will be two performances of The Nutcracker, an enduring Christmas favourite. A nutcracker who may just be a handsome prince in disguise - prepare to enter a magical new world.
The Russian State Ballet and Opera House will bring with them all the colour, enthusiasm and vibrancy one would expect and the audience is bound to be drawn in and immersed in the atmosphere - an unmissable treat for the whole family.
