Milkshake Monkey puts on a dazzling new musical

There’s an ideal half term treat for little ones at Eastbourne’s Congress Theatre this February.

Milkshake! Live – Milkshake Monkey’s Musical is at the venue on February 21 (12pm & 3pm).

Milkshake presenters Derek and Keira will be there alongside the gang.

A spokesperson said: “Milkshake Monkey can’t wait to put on a spectacular new musical for you all! But when stage fright hits his favourite Milkshake friends come to help, creating the most dazzling show ever.

“Children will feel part of this fantastic production as they learn the amazing songs and dances with well-loved larger than life Milkshake characters, and watch as the music; the lights, the costumes and stage come together. With great Milkshake friends, anything is possible.”

It stars Fireman Sam, Noddy, Shimmer and Shine, Digby Dragon, Wissper, Nella the Princess Knight and the Floogals.

World-class tribute looks at Whitney’s life and legacy

One Moment In Time – The Greatest Hits of Whitney Houston offers pop classics from world-class singers and musicians at Eastbourne’s Royal Hippodrome Theatre on Valentine’s Day.

The show starts at 7.30pm on February 14 and tickets cost £25 from 01323 802020.

A spokesperson said: “The story that is never told about Whitney is just how uniquely brilliant she was as an artist; by many measures she had the greatest voice of the past 50 years. She changed the way pop music was sung bringing it back full circle to blues and gospel roots. Her legacy was her music and we celebrate her life and songs with a musical concert dedicated to the legend that is Whitney Houston.”

The show stars Nya King.

A shocking and moving look at life in rural England

Eastbourne College presents Jerusalem by Jez Butterworth on Tuesday and Wednesday (Feb 4-5).

This is an AQA A-level Lower Sixth set text show.

A spokesperson said: “In a country community involving gangs and gypsies, the play explores rural life in England. Johnny Byron, egotistical, morally perplexed and wanted, makes a stand against the hypocrisy of suburban life which is shocking, moving and a wonder to watch unfold.”

It’s time to celebrate rock royalty in Eastbourne

Fans of loud, live and thrilling classic rock are in for a treat at the Congress Theatre this winter.

The Classic Rock Show comes to the venue for one night only on Thursday, February 6 (7.30pm).

There is no official dress code but audience members are encouraged to come along in long hair and leather jackets.
