ANDREW Lloyd Webber and Don Black’s masterpiece of musical theatre Tell Me on a Sunday returns to the Congress Theatre from August 3-6 starring Claire Sweeney as the ever hopeful romantic.
Considered one of Lloyd Webber’s most intimate musicals this show has been especially re-modelled for Claire, with an exclusive new song Dreams Never Run on Time, and includes the chart topping songs Take That Look off Your Face, Unexpected Song and the title track Tell Me on a Sunday.
Tell Me on a Sunday charts the romantic misadventures of an English girl in New York.
Brimming with optimism, she seeks success and love, but as she weaves her way through the maze of the city and her own anxieties, frustrations and heartaches she begins to wonder whether she’s been looking for love in all the wrong places.
Originally conceived for television starring Marti Webb, Tell Me on a Sunday has been performed by legendary musical theatre stars Sarah Brightman, Lulu and Denise Van Outen.
Evening performances are at 7.30pm with Thursday and Saturday matinees at 2.30pm.
