Legendary international ventriloquist Ronn Lucas is coming to Eastbourne on March 23 direct from shows in Las Vegas and Hollywood in The Ronn Lucas Show – Double Talk, which is doing a select tour of the UK.

Ronn has performed for U.S. presidents and to audiences all over the world to huge acclaim, now he’s back with friends Scorch the Dragon, Buffalo Billy and others to entertain this Easter.

Los Angles based Ronn was the first ventriloquist to have a long-running show in Vegas. He will be known to many in the UK from his long-running TV show which ran for 5 years from 1990, his numerous TV appearances also include the Royal Variety Show, The Late Show with David Letterman and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Described as the world’s best ventriloquist by The New York Times, Ronn first burst onto the UK scene in the early 1990s with Scorch the Dragon. The ultimate entertainer, Lucas mixes stand-up comedy, improvisation, audience interaction and astonishing voice gymnastics to delight fans worldwide.

This amazing family show has been produced and directed by Eastbourne’s own ventriloquist Steve Hewlett who found national fame on the Britain’s Got Talent Final. Steve will also take to the stage in this show which is sure to be a celebration of ventriloquism and not a gottle of geer in sight!

Steve collected Ronn from the airport on Tuesday and was looking forward to spending time with the man who had made such an impression on him growing up.

Steve commented: “It makes me look back at when I first saw him work in 1989. He was on a TV Show with Jim Davidson called Wednesday at Eight and he was the first thing i ever recorded on VHS. He was my favourite ventriloquist from then on to this day. From being a fan, to fellow ventriloquist, then friend and now work colleague it makes this one of the most exciting projects I’ve ever been involved with.

It’s like a dancer spending a week with Michael Flatley or a painter with Van Gogh, it’s the only way I can describe it.”

There will be a chance for fans to meet Ronn and Steve, and their friends, after the show in the theatre foyer.

The show opens at 7.45pm with tickets priced at £19.50 and concessions available, book on 01323 412000 or online
