Celebrate a golden era with Day By The Sea at the Royal Hippodrome Theatre which will be presented by the British Music Hall Society on Saturday June 4.
Following success of this event starring national treasure Roy Hudd last year, the British Music Hall Society returns with another fun-packed day.
Doors open at 10am, the entertainment starts at 10.30am, and lasts until 8pm. Roy himself will kick off proceedings aided and abetted by Wyn Calvin. They will be followed by ventriloquist and Britain’s Got Talent star Steve Hewlett with Arthur Lager.
The morning will also see Gail Morecambe and Jenny Secombe chatting to Edward Thomas about famous fathers, Eric Morecambe and Harry Secombe.
Let’s All Go To The Music Hall is an hour long show with Peter John, Julia Sutton, Mickie Driver and Roger Barber, followed by a lunch break.
In ‘Tales from Lodge’ Roy Hudd will tell the anecdotes, stories and secrets from The Grand Order of Water Rats Lodge, then comes John Hewer with his tribute show to Tommy Cooper.
Geoff Bowden will entertain by recalling stars who played the Hippodrome over the years and Stefan Bednarczyk will sing Flanders and Swann. The line-up is completed by Marilyn Hill Smith - who has just completed a tour of ‘The Sound of Music’ playing Mother Abbess and has appeared on BBCR2’s ‘Friday Night is Music Night more than any other performer - Adam Daye, Brandyn Shaw, and The Plummers.
