Calendar Girls

YOU’VE heard the inspirational story and seen the classic film – now it’s your chance.

The search gets underway to find Eastbourne’s very own Calendar Girl as the Eastbourne Herald has joined forces with Eastbourne Theatres and The Orchid Rooms to celebrate the arrival of the West End hit comedy by offering some great prizes for those brave enough to bare, almost everything!

We are looking for female readers willing to get into the spirit of the show and send in photographs of themselves – with appropriately placed props hiding their modesty.

The entries (if appropriate!) will then be posted on Eastbourne Herald’s website, where readers can vote for their favourite.

The top five will be invited to the opening night of the show at the Congress Theatre.

Prior to the performance they will meet members of the hit show, who will then decide on an overall winner who will be presented with a £50 spa treatment voucher for The Orchid Rooms in Grove Road.

Calendar Girls is inspired by the true story of some extraordinary Yorkshire women who set out to raise money for leukaemia research in memory of a husband and friend by posing nude for an alternative WI calendar.

Their courage turned a local story into an international media phenomenon and inspired millions of people worldwide.
