Eastbourne’s autumn theatre schedule will banish the winter blues

EASTBOURNE Theatres has unveiled a new programme of future shows that are sure to banish the winter blues.

From the premiere tour of Top of the Pops LIVE (October 18-20) to the award-winning The Rise and Fall of Little Voice (Nov 5 to 10), not to mention the dream of a pantomime, Sleeping Beauty (Dec 13 to Jan 13).

An array of famous faces will be treading the boards in Eastbourne including Jimmy Tarbuck, Dara O’Briain, Jack Dee, Julian Clary and Jethro all bringing their stand-up shows to the Congress Theatre.

Not to be left out, the Devonshire Park is also full of stars. Highlights include Gary Wilmot and Sara Crowe in Radio Times (October 9 to 13), Tom Conti making his Eastbourne debut in Rough Justice (October 22-27) and Jane McDonald and Sheila Ferguson in new disco musical Daddy Cool (November 19-24).

With literary classics, The Importance of Being Earnest (September 25-29), The Haunting (October 1-6), The Canterbury Tales (October 8-10), The Rivals (October 16-20), and Mansfield Park (November 13-17), and the Russian State Ballet and Opera House who are presenting Sleeping Beauty and Swan Lake, with music performed by a live Philharmonic Orchestra there is a veritable embarrassment of riches on offer at Eastbourne Theatres this autumn. Of course, the autumn season wouldn’t be complete without the classic Devonshire Park pantomime. This year’s show, Sleeping Beauty, stars Bernie Nolan as evil villainess Carabosse.

Making a welcome return is Eastbourne’s favourite Dame, Martyn Knight joined, this year, by comedian Tucker as Chester the Jester.

With all the ingredients essential to make a classic pantomime, Sleeping Beauty is sure to put you in a spin.

With online Select-A-Seat booking now available for all of this season’s shows, Eastbourne Theatres are making it easier for you to enjoy the best entertainment, in your favourite seats.

So escape the sofa this autumn and join them for some fantastic live theatre.
