With just one week to curtain up, the neatly mowed village green is being laid and Summerheath Hall’s stage transformed into a cricket pavilion.
But you don’t have to be a cricket fan to enjoy Richard Harris’ award-winning comedy.
A varied group of couples, with nothing more in common than a desire for men to put bat to ball in their regular Saturday cricket match, is pitched together in a summer afternoon of tension, back-biting and chaos amongst the crustless sandwiches, cups of tea and sound of leather on willow; but this afternoon’s cricket is about to go very wrong indeed.
Performances Thursday June 9 – Saturday June 11 at 7.30pm with a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm. Doors open 7pm / 2pm, Licensed bar, interval refreshments and cake available.
