Last night saw the start of Eastbourne Theatre’s summer in-house production of Alan Ayckbourn’s classic comedy Round and Round the Garden at the Devonshire Park Theatre.
Hilarious yet poignant, the play portrays complicated relationships between six characters.
Assistant librarian Norman is intent on making the women in his life happy, simultaneously attempting to seduce his sister-in-law Annie, charm his brother’s wife Sarah and keep his own wife, Ruth, content. Oblivious to the repercussions he leaves a trail of havoc.
Playing Norman is Charles Davies (Emmerdale, EastEnders); Jo Castleton (Doctors, Duffy: Crime Ltd) plays Annie; David Partridge (The Bill, Hotel Babylon) plays Tom; Natasha Gray (Emmerdale, My Husband and I, The New Statesman, Casualty) plays Sarah; Kevin Pallister (New Tricks, Holby City, Emmerdale, Doctors) plays Reg and Sarah Stanley (Henry’s Wives, Emmerdale) plays Ruth.
Round and Round the Garden is the latest show from the creative team at Eastbourne Theatres and directed by Artistic Director Chris Jordan.
