Introducing the Royal Hippodrome’s very own Hippo - Henrietta - who from September she will have her own kid’s monthly theatre show!
Some parents struggle, particularly in the colder Autumn months, finding things for their children to do. Now Eastbourne finally has an affordable form of Saturday morning entertainment for children aged three to 10.
The shows are modelled on the good old-fashioned Saturday morning TV style kids’ show with games, dances, songs and stories as well as special guests.
Each show is themed and parents and children encouraged to come in fancy dress.
The first is on Saturday, September 14, at 10.30am, and has a Knights and Princesses theme. It is designed to keep the little ones engaged and is a great way of introducing them to live performance.
An RHT Management spokesman said, “The Henrietta shows are part of the Hippodrome Theatre’s community brief. The idea is to get kids and parents from all areas of Eastbourne. With ticket prices £4 in advance or £6 on the door they offer exceptional value for money.
“Get a birthday party together and start the day with some fun before going to lunch - perhaps to the new Cartoon Café next door to the theatre?”
The other shows are October 5, November 9 and December 7 . Check the website www.royalhippodrome.com or call 01323 412000.
