Since Phoenix Choir came under the baton of director Michael Fields two years ago the choir has experienced a great variety of musical styles including an all-Mozart concert; a range of composers from Parry to Lennon and McCartney to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and a truly modern programme of music last February from John Rutter and Michael Fields himself.
The new season offers an opportunity to rehearse and perform an all Baroque programme: Vivaldi’s well-loved Gloria and the less familiar Laudate Pueri by Pergolesi, for performance in February of next year.
New singers will be most welcome and will have a chance to socialize with existing members for part of the opening rehearsal.
This takes place on Wednesday, September 4, at 7.30pm in All Saints Church Hall in Grange Road.
