Welsh singing star Sophie Evans will be coming to the Royal Hippodrome Theatre on June 8.
Sophie came to prominence on BBC’s Over the Rainbow where 12 finalists auditioned for the role of Dorothy in a new production of Wizard of Oz at the London Palladium.
Sophie came second to winner Danielle Hope. She covered certain performances before taking over the role full time when Danielle left.
Since the show closed last September Sophie has concentrated on concert appearances in venues such as the Royal Albert Hall and the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff alongside big names such as Michael Ball and Russell Watson. Sophie will be singing a mixture of her favourite songs, some classics and show numbers.
Sophie’s guest Tim Prottey-Jones is a musician, vocalist, composer and producer. Eastbourne Stagecoach and Cavendish School choir will be supporting on three songs.
The performance is at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £15.5o-£16.50, call 01323 412000 or online www.royalhippodrome.com .
