THE WATOTO Children’s Choir from Uganda are paying a visit to St Elisabeth’s Church on February 22 (7.30pm).

Every member of this vibrant and exciting choir is an orphan, one of the 1.8 million boys and girls in Uganda who have had the tragic experience of losing one or both parents to AIDS or war.

The choir present Watoto’s vision and mission through their music and dance, which is an energetic fusion of contemporary gospel and traditional African rhythm. This free concert is the first of three theatrical presentations which the church is hosting in the coming weeks. On April 9, Eastbourne actor Rodney Hunt will be performing the play Jesus My Boy. Tickets cost £3, call 502911.

From April 28-30 (6pm), the St Elisabeth’s Music and Drama Group will perform Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.
