TOPLOADER have announced they will come to Eastbourne’s Winter Garden for the second date of its UK tour in October.

Following lead singer Joseph Washbourn’s opera journey on ITV’s reality show, the Eastbourne four-piece are returning to their day job with their Only Human 16-date tour.

It will kick off in Coventry on October 1, days before the third single, which has been chosen by Toploader fans, is released.

The second night will see the band play a homecoming gig in Eastbourne at Floral Hall in the Winter Garden on Ocotber 8.

The Eastbourne band, who took an extended hiatus from music following the success of their first two albums, recently reunited at guitarist Dan Hipgrave’s stag do,

After a successful gig at Eastbourne Bandstand on August Bank Holiday in 2009, the four vowed to do another concert in the town.

Joseph appeared on ITV’s Popstar to Operastar in July but was voted out when competing against contestants Cheryl Baker, former X-Factor winner Joe McElderry and Steps singer Claire Richards.

He told the Herald he really enjoyed the experience but is now pleased to be returing to what he does best.

Joseph said, “The opera experience was great fun, but it is now time to forget arias and get back on stage with the band.

“This is the reason we got back together – to get on the road and tour our new material.

“It’s going to be a long month, we haven’t shared a tour bus for a while.”

Guitarist Dan Hipgrave added, “We are all ecstatic about beginning this tour.

“Since our return we have received terrific support from up and the down the country and we can’t wait to get started and play to all those have supported us.”

The tour takes place from October 1 to October 30. See for more details.
