The Albion Christmas Band will be getting all celebratory at the Hailsham Pavilion on Saturday December 5 at 7.30pm
This is a perfect way to start your festivities as past and present members of Fairport Convention and the Albion Band take their audience on a guided tour through Christmas customs, with a mixture of seasonal carols, spoken word, humorous readings and dance.
Ashley Hutchings, along with another of the evening’s performers Simon Nicol, co-founded Fairport Convention back in the late 60’s, and forty years on Simon is still fronting the band. Hutchings meanwhile went on to be part of - among others - Steeleye Span, and the Albion Band.
Kellie While, who also did her bit with the Albion Band, and Simon Care, who has lent his talents to a number of bands, including the Albion Dance Band, and Show Of Hands, complete the line-up that will deliver a proper seasonal treat.
The Albion Christmas Band has been kicking off the Christmas season for more than 15 years, but they keep their goodies under wraps until the beginning of December to make sure their festive offerings are as fresh as they can be; this year the band will be showcasing some newly written songs, whilst adding a modern twist to its arrangements of traditional tunes.
Tickets cost from £21.50 from 01323 841414 and www.pavilionhailsham.co.uk.
