The Eastbourne Symphony Orchestra’s autumn concert will be in the Birley Centre opposite the Towner Gallery and will feature one of the finalists of this year’s ESO’s Young Soloist Competition.
Aged 21, Molly Cockburn is currently in her third year at the Royal College of Music.
She began learning the violin with Nina Martin before joining the sixth form at Chetham’s School of Music and in 2008 she reached the string semi-finals of the BBC Young Musician of the Year Competition.
Molly will be playing Mozart’s Violin Concerto No 3 in G. The programme also includes Sullivan’s Yeoman of the Guard and Beethoven’s Symphony No 5.

as established in 1988 as a result of the 11th Duke of Devonshire’s financial generosity, and offers young soloists the opportunity to perform with an orchestra.
