Singers come to Herstmonceux castle

THE CATHEDRAL Singers of Ontario will be performing at Herstmonceux Castle on July 15 (7.30pm).

The choir was founded in 1999 by Ian Sadler, a former chorister and organ scholar of St. Paul’s Cathedral, London.

The choir, drawn from many parts of Ontario, consists of 40 adult singers and each summer for the past decade they have toured the UK to sing in the Cathedrals of Edinburgh, Exeter, Wells, Canterbury, Winchester, Salisbury, Gloucester, Ely, York Minster, Westminster Abbey and St. Paul’s.

Following their concert at Herstmonceux Castle, the choir will be in residence for a week singing the daily services at Gloucester Cathedral.

The choir’s concert in the Castle’s magnificent Ballroom will include the glorious music of Bruckner, Dvorak, Schubert, Durufle and Finzi.

Tickets cost £18.50, including a glass of wine in the interval, available on the door.
