ONCE again a capacity audience danced and listened to The Johnny Spice Swing Orchestra and vocalists.
It was a super evening and for those of us who stayed to the end we had the pleasure of listening to all the cheering and clapping from the dancers and listeners.
We also saw Pam Spice presented with a big thank you plant from all the orchestra for all her hard work.
She was not actually playing in the orchestra this time but in her usual way was mixing with ‘the people’.
She organises the whole evening and over the years the orchestra (now directed beautifully by Paul Hyde) has raised thousands of pounds for Macmillan Support. This year’s ball raised around £1,000.
There were lots of Macmillan balloons lowered onto the dancers at the end of the evening to the sounds of Sussex by the Sea.
The tables had Christmas crackers and lovely flower arrangements on them, with the usual big raffle all in aid of Macmillan Support drawn by our local MP Stephen Lloyd and the mayor, Councillor Carolyn Heaps.
A truly wonderful evening with a lovely friendly atmosphere.
