CELEBRATED harpist, singer and storyteller Nick Hennessey returns to The Lamb Folk Club on February 2.

Drawing together the note, the song and the spoken word, Nick is a warm and engaging performer with a love of the traditional culture of the British Isles and Northern Europe.

His research has taken him to West Russia to study the epic songs of Finno-Ugric people and to Finland, where he won the 2000 World Championships in ‘runo-laulu’.

In 2007, he recorded a story from Kalevala which was broadcast on BBC Radio 4.

He has performed at venues as diverse as village halls, the South Bank and the Royal Albert Hall and extensively at folk and storytelling festivals throughout the UK.

International visits have included Estonia, Canada and two national tours of Japan.

He has released three solo CDs, the latest being ‘A Rare Hunger’, which received critical acclaim both here and in the USA and enjoyed airplay on Radio 3’s Late Junction.

The event starts at 8.30pm, admission is £5 on the door and enquiries can be made on 728268.
