THE first concert in the Meads Music Festival will take place at All Saints Chapel on May 1.
The concert will take place at 3pm and is a recital by baritone Christopher Maltman.
Mr Maltman has just appeared in a new film version of Don Giovanni and is currently rehearsing in Paris for a new production of Marriage of Figaro.
He will leave Paris to come to Eastbourne to perform on Sunday, May 1.
David Irvine, one of the organisers, said, “It is such a great opportunity for music lovers in Eastbourne to hear a singer of this calibre.
“The Festival continues each Sunday with a wealth of musical talent.
“This series of concerts is the most exciting thing to have happened in Eastbourne from a classical music perspective, since the residency of the London Philharmonic Orchestra.”
