July brings a month of sizzling summer entertainment with many amazing ‘Tribute Shows’, the first of six ‘Kids Party Nights’ for school holiday fun, electrifying string sounds and more to Eastbourne’s iconic Bandstand, with the season now in full swing.
For double the tribute fun, weekend visitors in July will be treated to tribute concerts on both Friday and Saturday nights. ‘Tom Tastic’ starts the month off on July 3 with Tom Jones tribute act belting out all the classics from ‘Sex Bomb’ to ‘It’s Not Unusual’ and many more. Saturday July 4 sees another icon from British male pop, Elton John, being paid homage to in a flamboyant tribute concert.
George Michael tribute act who were unable to finish their set last year due to a storm, will recreate the George Michael ‘Tropicana’ magic on July 24, whilst another Storm! hits the Bandstand on July 12. This time the storm comes in the form of explosive electric strings quartet when sensational all-female violin quartet heat things up on the Bandstand stage.
Eastbourne Borough Council Lead Cabinet Member for Culture, Tourism and Enterprise, Cllr Margaret Bannister said: “With more and more visitors coming to Eastbourne in July, we always aim to provide a packed-out Bandstand programme for this busy month. With two tribute concerts each week, ‘Big Band Sound’ concerts, ‘Traditional Afternoons’ and the first ‘Kids Party Night’, we have so many genres of music covered in July and are pleased to offer Bandstand entertainment for every type of visitor.”
Tuesday July 28 sees the first of the ‘Kids Party Nights’ in a series of six during the school Summer holidays. AKA perform chart and family favourites, entertaining both children and parents in hourly concerts each Tuesday evening from July 28 until September 1. Tom Fitzpatrick is the UK’s youngest professional swing singer at the age of 23. Along with his swing band, he will be wowing audiences in an exciting concert of Swing, Big Band and Crooner style song on July 5.
Q the Music, a band like no other and the first ever James Bond cover band will have audiences enjoying their favourite 007 themes, from ‘Goldfinger’, ‘Dr No’ and many more at the ‘James Bond Concert Spectacular’ on July 26.
Sunday July 19 brings a double bill of classical music, with a ‘Traditional Afternoon Concert’ from East Grinstead Concert Band and ‘An Evening of Classical Music’ from The Kaleidoscope Salon Orchestra.
Many more uncanny tribute acts take to the stage in July with the Beach Boys, Abba, Tina Turner, Take That, Adele and Neil Diamond tribute concerts all heating up the month of July at Eastbourne’s Bandstand.
Spectacular weekly firework displays commence every Wednesday at ever popular traditional ‘1812’ concerts, and ‘Traditional Afternoon’ concerts will bring more relaxing Sunday afternoons by the sea throughout July.
