Eastbourne’s iconic Bandstand is preparing to launch an epic season of over 100 concerts kicking off on May 1.

Formerly Bucks Fizz will take to the stage during Airbourne on Friday August 12 and will perform Making Your Mind Up.

Mid-July, visitors can reminisce listening to The Sounds of the Sixties during a lively tribute concert by popular UK act, The Zoots. The August bank-holiday weekend brings musical laughs as The Professionals give hilarious parody performances of some of music biggest legends, from Madness to Frank Sinatra and more in the Multi-Tribute Comedy Show.

New tribute acts for the season, such as Blondie and Bruno Mars bring something fresh, while many favourites including Abba, Take That and The Beatles return to the Bandstand’s stage.

Back by popular demand, Salsa Cuban Night, James Bond Concert Spectacular and the Opera Duo are just a few of the concerts added to the Sunday night bill. Kids Party Nights on Tuesdays welcome families with live bands bringing some best loved show tunes and chart hits, alternating fortnightly with a DJ set for disco themed fun.

Following her Bandstand debut last year, Heather Peace returns to perform on finals day of the Aegon International Eastbourne, showcasing a soulful acoustic set of pop dedicated to 60’s girl groups, Motown and 80’s pop music.

A great addition to Sunday nights is the brand new US Diva Night, a bumper tribute concert, celebrating the music and careers of Madonna, Cher and Tina Turner. New to Saturday nights, Summer Dreaming on June 4, takes audiences on a trip down memory lane, to the high-school days of 50’s Rock’ n ’Roll.

Much loved ‘Big Band Sound Concerts’ return to liven up Thursday nights and spectacular mid-week firework displays will be welcomed back every Wednesday, accompanied by Tchaikovsky’s 1812 overture at ‘1812 Firework Concerts’.

Easter Sunday on March 27 will kick off the Bandstand season with a free Easter Concert, brought to life by the traditional concert band sounds of the Eastbourne Silver Band.
