On May 1 two of the best known names in American jazz will be appearing at the Birley Centre
Lenore Raphael, often described as America’s Queen of Swing, performed at Carnegie Hall when she was still a teenager, Now she spends her time at major international jazz festivals and packed performance venues.
Howard Alden is widely regarded as one of the best – if not the best – guitarists in the world. A prolific recording artist,he has won dozens of awards and was featured in film soundtracks including Woody Allen’s Academy Award nominated Sweet and Lowdown.
On the evening they will be supported by Paul Morgan(bass) and Peter Ingram(drums).
