Back for a third year, the Big Charity Concert at the Royal Hippodrome theatre on Friday October 2 will again be donating all profits to St Wilfrid’s Hospice.
This year’s line up includes Charlotte Jaconelli who with ex-partner Jonathan Antoine was runner-up in Britain’s Got Talent in 2012. Since 2014 Charlotte has pursued a successful solo career and has released her own album. She has made numerous concert appearances including the London Palladium and has just made her American concert debut in New York. Classical singer Rebecca Newman known affectionately as the People’s Soprano has this year been on tour with Russell Watson. She reached number one in the UK Classical Albums Chart with the release of her debut album in September 2014. Andrew Bateup was in a national tour of Joseph last year and Rebecca Davies has just finished touring in Anything Goes. In addition there is Archway Choir, Bourne Chorus, Carl Parsons, Eastbourne College Swing Band, Eastbourne Gilbert and Sullivan Society and Shining Stars Dance Academy.
Organiser Andrew Parsons says the aim as always is to provide a great evening of entertainment and at the same time raise a good amount of money for St Wilfrid’s Hospice. The target this year is to raise £2,000.
