Members of Eastbourne Choral Society are busy putting the finishing touches to their next choral outing.
The 100-strong choir is performing Mozart and Haydn for their Autumn concert at All Saints’ Church, Grange Road, Eastbourne, on Saturday, November 30.
Under the baton of musical director John Hancorn, the choir will deliver a programme of choral works, including Mozart’s Coronation Mass in C, for which they will be joined by soprano Andrea Tweedale, mezzo-soprano Clara Kanter, tenor Nick Pritchard and baritone Stephen Charlesworth.
The musical pace will pick up for an outing of Haydn’s spritely Te Deum, before a return to Mozart with two short pieces - Laudate Dominum and Ave Verum.
The professional orchestra members joining the society for this programme have the opportunity to showcase their musical talents with Mozart’s Eine Kleine Nachtmusik.
Liz Barker, chair of Eastbourne Choral Society, said: “Singing is a passion and the concerts are always the highlight of our choral year.
“We hope the people of Eastbourne will join for some hear great music.
“The ranks of the choir have recently been boosted by more members of all ages and we are really looking forward to performing these choral works.”
Tickets are £12, available in advance from the Tourist Information Centre in Cornfield Road, or at the door.
