The Eastbourne Symphony Orchestra, now in its 35th season, is up to its 130th concert, the majority of which have been conducted by maestro Graham Jones.
The summer concert features Vaughan Williams’s The Wasps Overture, Elgar’s Chanson de Matin and Chanson de Nuit, Shostakovich’s Piano Concert No 2, and Beethoven’s Symphony No 7. The piano soloist is Gen Li, winner of the orchestra’s annual young soloist competition, who is currently studying at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. The leader is Lisa Wigmore. The concert is on Sunday June 14 at 7pm in St Saviour’s Church, South Street BN21 4UT.
